The jurors say that Richard was born at Hoxton in Shoreditch parish and baptised in Shoreditch church, and was aged 21 years and more on the last feast of St Germanus the bishop. They recollect for the following reasons. Robert Mayhew , aged 50 years and more, says the year before Richard’s birth there was a battle at Shrewsbury, and on 22 July last 22 years had passed since this battle. Geoffrey Williamesone , 46n529_001 years and more, went to London on the day that Richard was born and stayed there for 7 successive years. Afterwards he left and stayed at Tottenham for 14 years and more. Richard Edrych , 60529_002 years and more, says that in the Lent preceding Richard Comberton ’s birth, his own son John was born and he is aged 21 years and more. William Edrych , 48 years and more, says that the same year that Richard was born he bought a wood at Hoxton from Alice his mother, for a... [ms worn and stained] agreed between them. This was in 5 Henry IV, 21 years ago. William Elys , 52 years and more, says that in the year preceding Richard’s birth, he was injured in the head and shin at the battle of Shrewsbury. The following year he stayed in London and Richard was born. The battle was 22 years ago. John Aleyn , 70 years and more, says that on the feast of St Laurence in the year before Richard’s birth, his own father John died. This was 22 years ago. Thomas ?Wete, 48 years and more, says that in the same year that Richard was born, he purchased a parcel of land in Tottenham from William Stephen , upon which he built a hall, and this was 21 years ago. John Snell , 46 years and more, says that at the time that Richard was born, he was staying with John Snell , his uncle, at...ensfeld, and the same year that Richard was born... from his uncle’s service and hitherto afterwards lived at Tottenham for 21 years and more. John Loremer , 72 years and more, says that Richard’s mother spoke with him on the day of her churching after Richard’s birth and... about a comet that shone the preceding year (stella comata que fulgebat), which year was 22 years ago. William Stephene , 58 years and more, says that 21 years ago William Pyryndon of London, ‘chaundeler’, married Christine Baker of Tottenham and William Stephene bought 400 faggots from Christine’s wood. The same year Richard was born on the same feast. William Fowler , 46 years and more, says that 21 years ago he was innkeeper with William Martyn at Tottenham and the same year Richard was born and baptised. John Turkyll , 48 years and more, says that he has a daughter named Maud the same age as Richard and she is aged 21 years and more.
