Holdings

He held the following in his demesne as of fee jointly enfeoffed with Alice his wife, Ralph Chamburleyn and John Pod , who all survive, to themselves, their heirs and assigns, as is clear more fully from a charter dated at Ardleigh, 16 June 1413 and shown to the jurors.

Ardleigh, Dedham, Elmstead and Greenstead, the manor called ‘Martelles’ with appurtenances in the vills, annual value £10, held of the duchy of Lancaster, service unknown.
Dovercourt, Harwich, Foulton and Ramsey, all lands, tenements, rents and services in the vills, called ‘Martell’, annual value 40s. and held of the Earl Marshal , service unknown.
Rivenhall, the manor called Hoo Hall, with all lands, tenements, rents and services in the vills of Rivenhall, Kelvedon, Witham and Faulkbourne, annual value 60s. and held of the bishop of Winchester as of his manor of Faulkbourne, service unknown.
He held no other manors, lands or tenements, rents or services, singly or jointly enfeoffed of the king in chief or any others because
long before his death, and by his charter dated at Lawford, 27 January 1424, he granted and confirmed his whole manor of Lawford called ‘Cokefeld’ together with the advowson of the manor’s church, to Thomas duke of Exeter , Thomas Erpyngham , John Howard , Simon Felbrigge , knights, Thomas Rolf , William Clopton , John Coo of Belchamp, John Simond and Robert Clopton , as is clear more fully in the charter shown to the jurors. The manor is worth £10 yearly and is held of Lord Bourgchier by knight service.

He died on 26 June last. Ellis Doreward son of Walter Doreward son of Ellis Doreward husband of Anne daughter of John son of Benedict Cokefeld , is his kinsman and next heir, aged 24 years and more.
