Thomas Marny held

the manor of Kingsey of ‪Henry V‬ by knight service. Owing to his death and the minority of Margaret his daughter and heir, in ‪Henry VI’s wardship, the manor came into the king’s possession. Margaret his widow, who survives, was assigned 1/3 manor in ‪Henry V‬’s Chancery in dower [CCR 1419–22, p.241], and the remaining 2/3 are still in the king’s possession. The manor is held of the king in chief by service of a knight’s fee, annual value of 2/3 manor, £10 13s. 4d.

She died on 4 November 1421. John Marny , brother of Thomas, is her uncle and next heir, aged 22 years and more.

Owing to the death of Thomas Marny, knight , and the minority of Margaret his daughter and heir, a minor in ‪Henry V’s wardship,

1/3 manor of Chipping Norton came into the possession of ‪Henry V‬ and is still in that of Henry VI‬. It is held of the king in chief by service of 1/3 knight’s fee and worth 7 marks 5s. yearly. Margaret his widow was assigned 1/3 of this in dower, as in 257. In the manor there are 7 virgates of arable, each containing 20 a., and 40 a. arable, each of all these acres worth 2d. yearly; 30 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; 30 a. pasture, each acre worth 10d. yearly; a water-mill, worth 30s. yearly; and £9 assize rents of service from lands and tenements held of the manor, at Michaelmas, Christmas, Easter and Midsummer in equal portions.
