Holdings
She was one of the sisters and heirs of Nicholas Lord Audley but she did not hold in free tenure. Long before the death of her husband Roger Hillary, knight , they granted half the manors of West Raddon and George Nympton, half of a quarter of the manor of Kilmington and half of 6s. rent in East Anstey and West Anstey by a fine of 1391 [CP 25(1)/289/56, no.225], shown to the jurors, to Robert bishop of London , Reynold Grey of Ruthin, knight , John Markham , John Woderove , Hugh de Holes, knight , and the heirs of Hugh. John Woderove died. The others granted the premises to her by an indenture to hold for 40 years from 14 Feb. 1401 , with the provision that if she died within the 40 years the grant would expire and the premises revert to them. The bishop and John Markham died.
She died holding the premises on 24 April 1411 . James de Audele , son of John, son of John, son of Joan her sister, is her heir and aged 12 years and more.

By a fine of 1393 recorded in 1396 [CP 25(1)/290/57, no.293] Roger Hillary, knight , and Margaret then his wife granted the reversion of the half manors of Nether Stowey, Downend, Puriton, Woolavington, Stockland Lovel, Crandon and Honibere and of 1 messuage and 40 a. in Woolston which Elizabeth widow of Nicholas de Audeley, knight , held for life of the inheritance of Margaret to William Stretehay , Thomas Thikenes , Philip Stretehay and Richard Snede and the heirs of Thomas to hold for the term of the life of Margaret, with remainder after her death to John son of John Tochet of Markeaton, knight , Thomas Tochet, parson of Mackworth , John Cokayn the uncle, John son of Richard Tochet of Mackworth and William Pakeman and the heirs of John son of John. The fine and royal licence [CPR 1391–6 , p.272] were shown to the jurors.
Elizabeth died. Thomas Thikenes , Philip and Richard held the premises whilst Margaret lived, William Stretehay having died before the fine was recorded. They should now remain to John Cokayn and John son of Richard Tochet , the others having died.

They also granted that the reversion of the half manor of Endon, of the third part of the manor of Betley, of a third part of the half manor of Audley, of a third of the third part of the manor of Horton and of the park of Heighley, of 2 parts of the 30s. rent, and of half of the third part of the manor of Balterley, all of which Elizabeth widow of Nicholas de Audeley, knight , held in dower, of the half of a third part of the manor of Alstonefield, which Nicholas de Stafford, knight , held for life, and of the half manor of Bradwell, which John Marsshall held for life, all of the inheritance of Margaret, should remain to the feoffees and the heirs of Thomas Thikenes during the life of Margaret. After her death all would remain to John son of John Tochet of Markeaton, knight , Thomas Tochet, parson of Mackworth , John Cokayn the uncle, John son of Richard Tochet of Mackworth and William Pakeman , and the heirs of John son of John.
Elizabeth and Nicholas Audley died.
The manors of Audley, Balterley and Tunstall are held of Lord Furnivall , Betley and Heighley of the heir of John de Betteley , Horton and Over Longsdon of the heir of William Mere , Endon of the earl of Stafford , and Bradwell, Chesterton, Alstonefield and the messuage in Newcastle under Lyme of the duchy of Lancaster.
Margaret held a third part of the manor of Audley, half of that of Chesterton, a half of a half of the manor and lordship of Norton and half of a third part of Alstonefield for life by the grant of John son of John Tochet of Markeaton, knight , with remainder to Thomas Tochet, parson of Mackworth , now deceased, John Cokayn the uncle, John son of Richard Tochet and their heirs and assigns. Roger and Margaret attorned to them. The parts of manors are held as above; annual values,
She died on 27 April last . Heir, aged 14 years and more, as above.
