Holdings
Robert Puttenham and John Fouler were seised in demesne as of fee of the following.
Clewer, the manor and advowson of the church there, held of the king in chief as 1/2 knight’s fee. Annual value of the manor, 100s.
The church is full and worth nothing .
Thus seised, by charter dated on 23 April 1404,n398 they granted the manor and advowson to John Sifrewast and Elizabeth his wife, and the heirs male of the body of John, with successive remainders to the heirs female of the bodies of John and Elizabeth; and to the right heirs of John, as more fully contained in the charter and royal licence, previously obtained [CPR 1399–1401, p. 373]. The charter and licence were shown to the jurors. John and Elizabeth were thus jointly seised of the manor and advowson, and John died seised of this estate. Elizabeth yet survives him, and she holds and occupies the manor and advowson by right of survivorship.
He died on 17 June last. Margaret, wife of David Brakenocke , Agnes, wife of Miles Scull , and Sibyl, wife of John Thorley , are his daughters and next heirs. They are respectively aged 44 and more, 40 and more, and 24 and more.
