Holdings
He held no lands or tenements of the king in chief in demesne or service. Long before his death, he was, however, seised of the following in demesne as of fee.
Carhampton, 2 messuages, a dovecot, 80 a. land, 3 a. meadow, 1d. and 9 capons assize rent, pasture for 6 cows and a bull in all the demesne lands of the lord of Dunster , called ‘Waterletis’, after the grain growing in them has been harvested and carried away and until the land is resown, when the land lies fallow (frisce vel ad warectum) at all times of the year. Annual value 12s.
Dunster, 15 messuages, a dovecot, 23 a. land, 1 1/2 a. meadow, 1 1/2 a. moor, and 4s. assize rent. Annual value 20s. [above the rent].
n396 The lands, tenements, and rent in Carhampton and Dunster are held of James Luttrell in socage.
Aller, 18 a. land, 3 a. meadow, and 2 a. alder. Annual value 5s.
Over Stowey, one messuage, 50 a. land, and a virgate of meadow. Annual value 6s.
North Combe in the parish of Cutcombe, 1d. assize rent.
These tenements are held of others than the king in chief, but in what manner and by what service is unknown. Thus seised, by charter dated on 27 March 1441, shown to the jurors, he granted these lands, tenements, and rents – described as all his lands and tenements, rents, services, and reversions, that he then held to him and his heirs, in Carhampton, Dunster, Aller, Over Stowey, and other places – to John Fitzjames , William Dodesham , and Walter Hassheforde , and their heirs and assigns, and he bound him and his heirs to guarantee the lands, tenements, and rents to John, William, and Walter, and their heirs and assigns. John, William, and Walter were thus seised in demesne as of fee, and are yet so seised.

He died on 1 April last. Elizabeth, Joan, Margaret, and Alice are his daughters and next heirs, and respectively aged 16 and more, 4 and more, 2 and more, and 1 and more.

[Head:] Delivered to court on 8 November.
