Regarding his inheritance as son of John Lumley who held of ‪ Henry V in chief. The lands and tenements are in the custody of John Bertram, chevalier , and John de Preston , lately one of the justices of the Common Bench, by commission of Henry V [CFR 1413–1422, pp. 392–3, 413]. Inform John Bertram and John de Preston of the forthcoming proof of age.

Robert Swynburn , 60 years and more, sworn and diligently examined on the age of Thomas Lumley , swears that Thomas was born at Morpeth on 29 September A.D. 1408, baptised on the following day in the church of St Mary there, and was 22 years of age and more on 29 September last. He knows because he was in the church when Thomas was baptised and saw Thomas Surtes, chevalier , one of the godfathers, give Thomas a silver goblet with a cover after the baptism. Adam Killyngworth , 50 and more, similarly sworn and examined on the age of Thomas Lumley, agrees with Robert regarding the day, year, and place of birth. Asked how he knew, he says that Margaret his daughter was sought to nurse Thomas on that 29 September. Simon Welden , 50 and more, agrees with Adam Killyngworth . He was elected to the office of coroner on the day that Thomas was baptised. Nicholas Turpyn , 50 and more, agrees with Simon Welden . Such a wind blew up on the day of the baptism that everyone feared the collapse of their weakened houses. William Rotherford , 50 and more, agrees with Nicholas Turpyn. He carried a silver basin and ewer from Morpeth castle to the church, to give water to the godfathers and godmother for washing their hands after raising Thomas from the font. William Bedenhall , 50 and more, agrees with William Rotherford . He carried a torch in front of Thomas from Morpeth castle to the church on the day of the baptism, and held it during the whole of the baptism. Robert Musgrave , 50 and more, agrees with William Bedenhall. He met many men and women coming from the church. They told him that Thomas had been baptised, which gave him great joy. John Herle , 50 and more, agrees with Robert Musgrave . John Lumley, chevalier , father of Thomas, was sheriff of Northumberland in the same year that Thomas was baptised. Roger Fenwyk , 50 and more, agrees with John Herle . He carried two pewter pots of clary wine and malmsey wine and 4 silver goblets from Morpeth castle to the church for the godfathers, godmother, and other bystanders on the day of the baptism. William Benet , 50 and more, agrees with Roger Fenwyk . He was at the espousal between Katherine daughter of John Galon and William Cutour at Morpeth on the day that Thomas was baptised. Robert Neuton , 50 and more, agrees with William Benet . He saw Henry Percy of Atholl, chevalier , give 40s. to Thomas immediately after he was baptised, and give 6s. 8d. to the nurse... of the birth. John Elison , 50 and more, agrees with Robert Neuton . He was elected... [ms torn away] on the day that Thomas was baptised.
