KATHERINE WIFE OF RICHARD BOTHE, ESQUIRE

Regarding her inheritance as daughter of Philip Oke who held of ‪ Henry VI in chief. The lands and tenements of the inheritance are in the custody of Robert Darcy, esquire , by commission of Henry V by letters patent [CPR 1416–1422, p. 400]. Inform Robert of the forthcoming proof of age.

Thomas Syngleton , 60, swears that Katherine was born at Coddenham on the vigil of Corpus Christi 1415. He saw Katherine raised from the font in the church of Coddenham on the same day. John Neve , 50, saw John Hotot riding to the church of Coddenham to be Katherine’s godfather. Robert Frammesdene , 52, saw Katherine wife of Thomas Misterton riding to the church to be Katherine’s godmother. Roger Fattehare , 66, says that George Felbrigge, knight , gave him lands and tenements that were of John Janne, chaplain , in the vill. Robert Reede , 60, was riding through the middle of Coddenham when his horse fell. He broke his shin. John Doye , 48, held a waxen candle in the church while Katherine was baptised. John More , 58, was servant to John Hotot and rode with him to Coddenham church. He saw John Hotot stand as godfather to Katherine. John Hegemon , 49, saw Katherine wife of William Godmanston riding through the middle of Needham Market to Coddenham on the same day, to stand as Katherine’s other godmother. John Laverok , 42, had a daughter called Joan born, and then baptised in the font of Coddenham church on the same day. Martin Goldynge , 56, enfeoffed William Levesson with a messuage in Coddenham. John Baker , 55, carried a basin and ewer to the church for the godfather and godmothers to wash their hands. John Caxstrete , 54, says that Margaret Caxstrete his mother died and was buried in Coddenham churchyard.
