Holdings
Ralph Pyrot was seised of the following in demesne as of fee.
Chesham, 6 messuages, worth nothing yearly and greatly in need of repair; a dovecot, worth 40d. yearly; 3 carucates of land, each worth 6s. 8d. yearly; 100 a. wood, worth 20s. yearly; and 100s. rent, held of the king in chief as 1/100 knight’s fee.
By a fine levied on the quindene of Martinmas 1301 [CP 25/1/17/56 no. 14], he granted the messuages etc. [as above], described as 60 a. land, 90 a. wood, and £10 2s. 3¾d. rent in Chesham, to Laurence de Broke and Ellen his wife, and to the heirs of Laurence’s body by Ellen, with remainder to the right heirs of Laurence in perpetuity. The fine was exemplified under the great seal of the present king and shown to the jurors. Laurence and Ellen had issue: Agnes, and died.n096 Right in the messuages, dovecot, land, wood, and rent descended to Agnes as their daughter and heir. She had issue: Joan, and died. Right descended to Joan as daughter and heir of Agnes. Joan was seised and married Peter Skudamour, knight , and they had issue: Katherine, who married John Reynes . Katherine and John had issue: Thomas. Peter afterwards died, and Joan married Robert Corbet, knight . Robert and Joan granted the messuages etc. [as above] to John Ebryngton and Thomas Playstede , and to the heirs of John in perpetuity. John and Thomas granted the messuages etc. [as above] to the said Robert Corbet and William Rokwod , and to their heirs in perpetuity. Robert and William granted the messuages etc. [as above] to John Reynes , John Barton , John Olney of Weston , Richard Reynes, esquire , and Thomas Reynes , and to their heirs in perpetuity. Katherine mother of Thomas Reynes then died and Joan died. Right descended from Joan to Thomas Reynes , her kin and heir as son of Katherine daughter of Joan, by virtue of the fine. Thomas Reynes expelled John Reynes , John Barton , John Olney , and Richard from the messuages etc. [as above], and continued alone in his estate for life.Thomas had issue: John, and died solely seised of his estate on 5 July 1417. Right descended from Thomas to John, as his son and heir.

John was seised in demesne as of fee tail and died so seised on 20 October 1421, a minor aged 4 years, without heir of his body. Right descended from John son of Thomas Reynes to William Strete , his kin and heir as son of Cecily daughter of Katherine mother of Thomas Reynes father of John. William is aged 22 and more.

John Hertwell and John Pydmyl took the issues continuously from the time of the death of John son of Thomas. They still take them and occupy the messuages etc. [as above].
