By indented charter dated Strode 3 May 1422, he granted the above, described as all his lands and tenements, rents, services, and reversions, to Hugh Deverell , John Cheverell , Walter Bagge, clerk , and John Golde of Sandput , and to their heirs and assigns in perpetuity, to hold of the chief lords of those fees by due service. Hugh has since died but the others survive and are still seised in demesne as of fee. The charter was shown to the jurors.

He died on 11 September last. John Pokeswell is his son and next heir, and aged 14 and more.

John enfeoffed Hugh Deverell , Robert Grey , William Gosse , Thomas Wynston , and Richard Rebeleshay with the above, to hold to them and their heirs in perpetuity. Hugh, Robert, William, Thomas and Richard afterwards granted the above by indented charter dated Bridgwater 4 November 1408, described as all the lands and tenements, rents, reversions, and services that they lately held by enfeoffment of John Pokeswell in Woolmersdon, Christon, Durborough, Chalcott, Huntspill, and Burnham, to John Pokeswell and Elizabeth his wife, still living, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder, failing such issue, God forbid (absit), to the right heirs of John Pokeswell in perpetuity. The charter was shown to the jurors. John afterwards died and Elizabeth continued her estate in survivorship. She then married Thomas Tame, esquire , and they are now seised of the above lands and tenements in right of Elizabeth. John Pokeswell was also formerly seised of the following in demesne as of fee.
Uphill, ¼ manor, annual value 30s., held of John, earl of Huntingdon , service unknown.
East or West Lydford (Lydford), 1/5 of 40d. rent from a messuage, 40 a. land, meadow, and pasture.
Cossington, 1/3 toft and 1/3 carucate of land, annual value 15s., held of John Tredek , service unknown.
Lyncombe, a toft and a carucate of land called ‘Lyncombe’, annual value 5s., held of the heir of Ellis Fitzpayn as of his manor of Churchill, service unknown.
He enfeoffed John Strecche , Robert Grey , Hugh Deverell , William Gosse , Hugh Arnald, clerk , and John Cheverell with the above to hold to them and their heirs and assigns in perpetuity. All the feoffees have since died except John Cheverell, who continues his estate in survivorship.
