He held no lands or tenements of Henry V in chief of the crown in demesne or in service. Otes Bodrugan , father of Joan wife of Robert Hull, senior , whose heir she is, and Master William Sergeaux, clerk , and John Dr... [ms creased and worn], chaplain, were seised of the manors of Tremodret and Trevellion in their demesne as of fee. By their charter shown to the jurors and dated at Tremodret, 11 June 1389, they granted the manors among others to Richard Sergeaux, knight , and Philippe his wife, deceased, and the heirs of their bodies, remainder to entail to other persons in fee tail as is contained more fully in the charter. Richard and Philippe died seised in their demesne as of fee tail. These and other manors, lands and tenements then descended to Alice countess of Oxford , now wife of Nicholas Thorley , Philippe mother of John Passele and now deceased, and Elizabeth mother of Thomas Marney, chevalier , and now deceased, as the daughters and heirs of Richard and Philippe. Alice, Philippe and Elizabeth entered these and they were partitioned between them. The manors of Lanreath, [Lower] Helland, Trefreock and Treworder with the advowson of Lanreath church and 1/3 manors of Tremodret and Trevellion were allowed to Philippe mother of John as her share after the deaths of Richard and Philippe. Described as Philippe widow of Robert Passele, esquire , in her widow-right, she granted these to William Swynborne for life to hold of Philippe and her heirs, paying her and her heirs a red rose at the feast of St John the Baptist, as is contained more fully in a corresponding charter shown to the jurors and dated at Trevellion, 12 February 1407. William died seised of this estate. Philippe mother of John died seised of the reversion as of fee, and the reversion then descended to John Passele as her son and heir, aged 25 years and more. Philippe mother of John held the reversion of 1/3 manors of Tremodret and Trevellion of Henry IV of his castle of Launceston of his duchy of Cornwall by knight service.
He died on 22 May 1409. John Swynborne is his brother and next heir, aged 30 years and more.
John Passele took the issues from the manors from the time of William’s death.
