As the designer for the Mapping the Medieval Countryside project website I'm interested in how we can create a resource that both answers the key project research questions and is also useful to the wider research community.

Welcome to the blog and website for Mapping the Medieval Countryside. The website is an interim site providing information about the project and about inquisitions post mortem more generally. The section on 'Contexts' contains introductory features aimed primarily at users who are new to the source and/or period. 'Featured Inquisitions' contains more detailed studies of the documents and their historical value. Both will be updated regularly: suggestions for topics to be covered are very welcome, as are contributions.
