Holdings
He held the following in demesne as of fee.
Polhampton, the manor, held of the king as 1/6 knight’s fee, as an escheat after the death of the late earl of Aumale . The capital messuage is worth nothing yearly beyond the cost of maintaining the houses there. In the manor there are 300 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly, total 50s.; 40 a. pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly and no more because they are common to all tenants of the manor at certain times of the year, total 3s. 4d.; 8 a. meadow, each acre worth 10d. yearly, total 6s. 8d.; 10 a. woodland (terre boscat’), of which each acre of pasture is worth 2d. yearly, total 20d.; a warren, worth 6s. 8d. yearly; 18d. rent from 2 free tenants; and 4 neif tenants, whose rents and services are worth 20s. yearly.
Freemantle, 200 a. pasture by the king’s park, annual value 16s. 8d., held of the king in chief as 1/8 knight’s fee.

He died on 31 May 1447. John is his son and next heir, aged 20 on 10 January last.
