Holdings
He held no lands or tenements in demesne or in service of the king or of any other. Long before his death he was seised of the following in demesne as of fee. Thus seised he feoffed Nicholas Aysheton and Walter Moyle , serjeants-at-law, John Wenlok, esquire , John Hamwell , and John Gyst , citizen of London, and their heirs and assigns, so that they were seised and still are in demesne as of fee. By letters patent dated at Westminster 28 January 1444 [not found], shown to the jurors, the king, of his special grace and for 20 marks paid in the hanaper, pardoned their trespass in acquiring without licence from John Cornewaill, knight, late lord Fanhope , and in entering into, the manors and advowsons of Ampthill and Millbrook, and ‘la Graunge’ by Millbrook, with all lands, tenements, meadows, pastures, woods, warrens, rents, and services of free and neif tenants; and granted that the manors, etc., could be held of the king and his heirs by due and customary services without impediment from the king or his officers.
He died on 11 December 1443. The jurors are ignorant as to his heir.
