The jurors were sworn and examined on the age of John de Denton . They say that John was born at Carlisle on 14 October 8 Henry V [1420], and baptised in the church of St Cuthbert there on the same day. John was aged 22 on the feast of St Wilfred the Bishop last [12 October], and the jurors know for the following reasons. John Blanerhasset, senior , 50 and more, had a huge feast at the time of the baptism with John Skelton, knight , godfather of John de Denton , on which day John Blanerhasset said that he was aged 28 and more. He thus well recollects that John de Denton is the said age. William Louther of Rose, 45 and more, broke his shin while dancing. William Louther of Crookdake, 46 and more, knows because his wife died. Thomas Aglionbi , 47 and more, was taken by the king’s Scottish enemies.n537 Christopher Thwaytes , 60 and more, knows because John his brother died. James Thwaytes , 50 and more, fell from his horse and broke his arm. John Bost , 44 and more, knows because his house caught fire. John Morland , 60 and more, was taken by the Scots on Rowland Marsh (Rovlondmersh) by Carlisle and removed to Scotland by force. Walter Dokwra , 50 and more, knows because his father was buried. John Skelton , 48 and more, knows because Richard his brother was born and baptised on the same 14th day, and Richard is aged 22 and more. Richard More , 54 and more, knows because a bridge over the Eden by Carlisle was damaged by a flood. John Blanerhasset, junior , 52 and more, married Mariot, daughter of John Knoblowe, chaplain .
