Holdings
Robert de Swyllyngton, knight , was lately seised in demesne as of fee of 1/3 manor of West Markham and a third of 1/3 manor of Tuxford, among other things. By charter dated at Lambley on 14 February 1383, shown to the jurors, he granted them to Ralph Cromwell, knight , for life with successive remainders to William son of Ralph, and the heirs male of his body; to Thomas brother of William and the heirs male of his body; to John brother of Thomas, and the heirs male of his body; and to the right heirs of Ralph. Ralph was thus seised in demesne as of free tenement, and he died so seised. William his son then entered the thirds of the manors, and was seised in demesne as of fee tail. He had issue: Robert Cromwell, knight , named in the writ, and died. Robert, as son and heir male of William, then entered the thirds and was seised in demesne as of fee tail. He died without heir male of his body, and both Thomas and John, brothers of William, died without heirs male of their bodies. The thirds should revert to Ralph, Lord Cromwell, knight , kin and heir of Ralph Cromwell, knight , as son of Ralph brother of William father of Robert, and to his heirs.He died on 7 June 1441.n497 Ralph, Lord Cromwell, knight , is his kin and next heir and aged 50 and more.

She granted it, among other things, by charter dated at Tydd St Mary on 29 October 1428, to Ralph Cromwell, knight, lord of Tattershall , Henry Rochefort, knight , Richard Haghe of Hough on the Hill, Thomas Somercotes , John Henage , John Kyghley of Salmonby, William Reynes, chaplain , Thomas White of Fulstow Marsh, Simon Thruston of Tydd St Mary, and John Hunston of Tydd St Mary, and their heirs and assigns; and they were thus seised in demesne as of fee. Furthermore, Isabel – lately wife of John Thymelby, esquire , the other daughter and heir of William Flete and Margaret his wife – was lately seised in demesne as of fee of the other moiety of the manor of Tydd St Mary and Fleet, among other things, with advowson of the chantry and all lands, tenements, rents, services, and reversions belonging to that moiety. By charter, she granted it, among other things, to Ralph Cromwell , Henry Rochefort etc. [as above], and their heirs and assigns; and they were thus seised in demesne as of fee. Henry Rochefort, Thomas Somercotes, John Henage, and Thomas White afterwards died, and Ralph Cromwell , Richard Haghe , John Kyghley , William Reynes , Simon Thruston , and John Hunston , still living, were thus seised of the whole manor. They granted it, among other things, by charter dated on 1 October 1441, shown to the jurors, to William, bishop of Lincoln , Nicholas Dixoon, clerk , John Throkmerton , Richard Alred , William Heton , William Stanlowe , and Robert Wymbyssh, clerk , and their heirs and assigns. The bishop, Nicholas etc. [as above] were thus seised in demesne as of fee by virtue of the enfeoffment, and are still so seised.
