He was seised of the following messuages and rent in demesne as of fee. Thus seised, by indented deed dated on 1 April 1419, the other part of which was sealed with his seal and shown to the jurors, in which he is described as John Belasys, esquire, he granted an annual rent of £9 from the messuages and rent, described as all his lands, tenements, rents, possessions, and services in the vill of Newcastle upon Tyne, to Alice, who was wife of Nicholas de Redele , still living, and her assigns for the term of Alice’s life, to be taken at Pentecost and Martinmas equally, with power to distrain on the lands and tenements until satisfaction is made if the rent should fall into arrears in part or total by 40 days after any term.
He died on 26 May last. Alice Belasys , his daughter and next heir, is aged 30 and more.
