He held no lands in demesne as of fee of the king in chief, but was lately seised of the manor of Ongar Park in demesne as of fee.
Ongar Park, the manor, held of the king in chief as 1/2 knight’s fee. In the manor, there is a messuage, a carucate of land, 800 a. wood, and 4s. 5 1/2d. rent payable at Easter and Michaelmas equally from the following tenants for land in Stanford Rivers: 2s. 8 1/2d. from Henry Wylcok for 20 a. land; 20d. from John Colyer for 24 a. land; and 1d. from Thomas Burgh for 20 a. land.
He granted the messuage, carucate of land, and 800 a. wood by charter, shown to the jurors, to Robert Large, citizen and alderman of London, John Symond, Thomas Bataille, mercer , Richard Osbarn , citizen of London, Thomas Staunton, mercer of London , Thomas Stile, mercer of London , Thomas Bande , John Barle , William Fyndern , William Neuport , John Leventhorp, junior , and John Harleston , esquires, and their heirs and assigns. Royal licence was obtained [CPR 1429–36, p. 343]. They were thus seised in demesne as of fee, and are still so seised. Thomas, named in the writ, thus died seised in demesne as of fee of the
4s. 5 1/2d. rent,
held of the king in chief as parcel of the manor. He was seised in demesne as of fee of the following manor and advowson.
The annual value of the manor with the rent is £10 4s. 5 1/2d. Magdalen Laver, the manor and advowson of the church, held of Richard, duke of York, as of the honour of Clare, service unknown.

He died on 14 October last. John Bataille , his son and next heir, was aged 14 on 20 November last.
