Regarding CIPM XXII, no. 137, an inquisition taken in 1423.n274 Inquire whether or not Lena gave birth to the child with which she was pregnant by John and, if so, then whether it was a son or daughter and its name and age. Inquire too whether Lena remarried after the death of John and, if so, to whom and when.

She gave birth to a daughter by John, called Joan, who was 16 years and more on the feast of St Laurence last.n275 Lena remarried after the death of John. She took as her husband Thomas Bonvyle, esquire , still living, on 6 May 1425.

n274^: Only part of the inquisition calendared in CIPM XXII, no. 137 is recited in the writ: the whole of the first paragraph of text after the list of jurors (p. 158), and part of the second paragraph to ‘as of his castle of Plympton’. The lands held of Thomas, son of Hugh Courtenay, earl of Devon, were those of concern.

n275^: It is unclear which feast of St Laurence is indicated. The feast of St Laurence the Martyr fell on 10 August, and that of St Laurence the Archbishop fell on 3 February.
