He held no lands or tenements of the king in chief, or any other, in demesne or service. Edward Cerne, esquire , father of Richard who was his heir, was lately seised of the following manor in demesne as of fee. He granted it to Ralph Boteler and John Bonde , and their heirs, to hold of the king and his heirs by due service, as in Edward’s charter dated at Draycot Cerne on 19 March 1413, shown to the jurors. Royal licence was obtained by letters patent dated at Westminster on 5 March 1413 [CPR 1408–13, p. 469], also shown to the jurors. Ralph and John were thus seised in demesne as of fee. They afterwards granted the manor to Edward and Isabel his wife, still living, and to the heirs of their bodies together, to hold of the king and his heirs by due service, with remainder to the right heirs of Edward. This grant was made by charter dated at Draycot Cerne on 11 May 1414, shown to the jurors, by authority of the letters patent above. Edward and Isabel were thus seised in demesne as of fee tail. They had issue: Richard, and Edward afterwards died. Isabel survived and is yet seised of the manor. Richard died without heir of his body.

He is aged 40 years and more.
