ALICE WHO WAS WIFE OF WILLIAM FRAUNCEYS

Holdings
She held no lands or tenements of the king in chief in demesne or service. She held the following in demesne as of fee.
Hele, the manor. Two ferlings of land, parcel of the manor, are held of the king as of his manor of Bradninch, part of the duchy of Cornwall, by rendering 6d. yearly to him at Michaelmas and suit at his court of Bradninch twice yearly, at Easter and Michaelmas, for all services. The rest of the manor is held of Elizabeth Chuselden as of her manor of Holcombe Rogus, service unknown. In the manor, there is a capital messuage with curtilages, worth nothing yearly; 2 mills, one for grain and the other for fulling, each truly worth 20d. yearly; an orchard, worth 6d. yearly; 6 ferlings of land, each worth 10s. yearly; 13 a. meadow, each acre worth 10d. yearly; 10 a. wood, worth nothing yearly; 10s. 1d. assize rent from certain tenements, held freely in fee by certain tenants, payable at Michaelmas; 43s. assize rent from certain customary tenants, payable at Easter, Midsummer, Michaelmas, and Christmas equally.
She died seised of reversion of the following as of fee and by right. Membury, 2 parts of the manor, held of the king as of his manor of Bradninch as 1/3 knight’s fee. Richard Crymplok and Florence his wife, in right of Florence, hold the two parts in dower from the inheritance of Alice, by endowment of Nicholas Hele , former husband of Florence, father of Alice. Alice was heir of Nicholas. The reversion is worth nothing yearly.

She died on 31 January last. Henry Fraunceys , her kin and next heir as the son of John son of Alice, is aged 33 years and more.
