RICHARD HUDSON OF SKELTON

Holdings
He held the following in demesne as of fee of ‪ Henry IV in chief.
Skelton, 3 bovates, annual value 6s. 8d., held by homage and fealty and rendering 10 1/2d. cornage to the king at his exchequer at Carlisle on the feast of the Assumption.

He died on 12 January 1411. Thomas Hudson , his son and heir, is aged 44 years.

Richard Skelton , ‪ Henry IV ’s escheator in Cumberland occupied the land and took the issues from Richard’s death until the following Michaelmas by virtue of his office. Since then, each and every escheator has occupied the land and taken the issues for the same reason.
