Regarding CIPM, xxii, no. 750, an inquisition held in 1426 after the death of William de Lokton who held the manor of Hutton Colswayn by curtesy after the death of Mary his wife. It was found that Elizabeth was kin and heir of William and Mary as the daughter of William de Lokton son of William de Lokton . Inquire as to how Elizabeth is kin and heir of Mary.

Elizabeth is now deceased and was lately a minor in the king’s wardship when she died.

There are 6 messuages, each worth 2s. yearly; a toft without buildings, worth 12d. yearly; 33 bovates of land, each worth 2s. 8d. yearly; 48 a. foreland, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 10 a. enclosed pasture and 100 a. common pasture, worth 20s. yearly; 5 a. meadow, worth 5s. yearly; a messuage and 2 bovates of land in Hutton Hill, worth 6s. yearly; 4 tofts, and an acre of pasture in High Hutton, worth 3s. yearly; a croft called ‘Tollercroft’ next to Old Malton, worth 12d. yearly; a garden (ortus) called ‘Wawergarth’ and a bovate of land called ‘Julian Oxgan’ in Swinton, worth 2s. yearly; 8 a. meadow lying next to Newsham Bridge (Neweson Brigg), each acre worth 12d. yearly; 40 a. pasture called ‘Sandburn’ next to Stockton on the Forest and 40 a. pasture called ‘Carleton Leys’ next to Warthill, worth nothing yearly beyond the 4 marks that the king has there by the hands of the sheriff; a common oven in Hutton Colswayn, worth 12d. yearly; a several fishery in the Derwent, worth 20d. yearly; service and 20s. rent yearly from Thomas de Lokton for a messuage and 8 bovates of land in Hutton Colswayn (Hoton), payable at Easter and Michaelmas equally; homage and service from Robert Lovell of Hutton Hill for 2 messuages and 10 bovates of land there; and a toft in New Malton, worth 2d. yearly.

She died without an heir of her body on 11 September last. Elizabeth, wife of Robert Wanesford , is her kin and next heir, viz., sister of William, son of William, father of Elizabeth, and is aged 30 years and more.
