He held the following for life by grant of Richard Neville, earl of Salisbury , and Alice his wife by a fine levied between them and Richard Hertcombe in 1431 [CP 25/1/22/119, no. 20], with reversion to the earl and Alice, and to the heirs of Alice. Royal licence was obtained [CPR 1429–36, p. 23]. All the manors are held of the king in chief as 1/20 knight’s fee.
Aston Clinton, the manor and advowson of the church there. There is the manorial site, worth nothing yearly; 9 messuages, worth 10s. yearly; a watermill, worth 10s. yearly; a dovecot, ruinous and thus worth nothing this year; 16 virgates, worth 100s. yearly; 200 a. land, worth 30s. yearly; 40 a. meadow, worth 20s. yearly; a piece of meadow called ‘le Fen’, worth 25s. yearly; a pasture called ‘le Park’, enclosed by hedge and ditch, worth 30s. yearly; a small close called ‘le Hareclose’, worth 10s. yearly; 14 a. pasture, worth nothing yearly above the common that various men have in the same; a ‘chalkpytt’, worth 4d. this year as in some years, but worth nothing yearly in other years; 40 a. timber wood, its profits, as those of the ground there, worth nothing yearly; 28s. 1 1/2d. free rent from various lands and tenements of free tenants, payable yearly at the feast of the Conception of Mary and Michaelmas equally; free rent of 2lb pepper from various lands and tenements of free tenants, payable yearly at Michaelmas; a court called ‘Court Baron’ held at various times of the year, worth nothing yearly above the fees of the steward and bailiff; and another court called ‘le lete’ held once yearly after Michaelmas, worth nothing yearly above the fees of the steward and bailiff.
The advowson, held of the king in chief and worth 20 marks, has always belonged to the manor.
Dundridge, the manor, parcel of the manor of Aston Clinton, time out of mind. There is the manorial site, worth nothing yearly; 50 a. arable, worth 4s. 2d. yearly; 10 a. moor, worth nothing yearly above the common that various men have in the same; and 15 a. timber wood, worth nothing yearly, its herbage also worth nothing yearly above the common that various men have in the same ground.
Montjoy, the manor, parcel of the manor of Aston Clinton, time out of mind. There are 60 a. arable, worth 4s. yearly; 15 a. timber wood, its profits, as those of its herbage, worth nothing yearly; and 10 a. moor, worth nothing yearly.

He died on 8 May last. Thomas Hertcombe , his brother and next heir, is aged 40 years and more.
