Holdings
The jurors say that Thomas was born and baptised in Odell church on 28 September 1410 and offer the following recollections of events 22 years ago for him being aged 21 years and more. Matthew Honorre , aged 46 years and more, had made a silver belt for his marriage, studded with bells. William at Well , 50 years and more, says Robert his son was born the day after Thomas’ birth, and Robert is aged 22 years and more. Thomas Beerne , 50 years and more, says John Hert married his sister at the church and when they were there at mass it was commonly said that Thomas, son of Thomas, was born. William Ballard , 56 years, says there was much playing at football at Odell and he ?collided with John Cook and broke John’s shin. Robert Palmer , 48 years, met John at Noke driving sheep (oves) to Odell and as he drove them over the stream, six were immersed. John Smyth , 53 years and more, had his daughter named Margaret baptised in the church of Odell before noon and Thomas was baptised there after noon. John Person , 58 years and more, was at Odell with John Hochekyn at ?communion and the hue and cry was raised for a house fire and as John hastened to suppress the fire he fell over a stone and broke his left arm. John Haukyn , 48 years and more, says as he came towards Odell to play with the men of the vill, he leapt over the stream and broke his right shin. Thomas Sesse , 49 years and more, bought 20 sheep (oves) from John Hore of Odell and on the following day when he sent for them, a wild dog killed them. Richard Southwode , 50 years and more, says that on 14 September 1410, a thief was captured at Odell. He broke his shackles and entered the church of Odell and as he leapt at the wall of the churchyard he fell and broke his right arm. The following Sunday Thomas was born. John Sumnour , 54 years and more, was at Odell and saw John Sharpe driving his cart loaded with straw and when he came to the end of the vill the cart fell in the ditch (ffouea) of John Numan ’s garden and three horses were killed by the cart. John Olney , 58 years and more, says Alice Olney his mother died on 20 September 1410 and the following 28 September he had a mass celebrated for her at Odell.
