[Proof: ms faded and dirty.] John Hogettes , aged 48 years and more, swears that Elizabeth was born at Handsworth, baptised in the church there, and was 14 years of age on 1 February last. Asked how he knows, he says that he apprenticed Richard his son to John Tamworth of Coventry, draper, on the day that Elizabeth was born, to learn the trade and to serve him for 8 years. John Hondes , 50 and more, took a certain tenement of John Stoke in Lichfield to farm for 20 years, rendering...s. 4d. yearly. Richard Buggyng , 60 and more, was in the church when Elizabeth was baptised and ministered water so that her godfather and godmothers might wash their hands. Thomas Porter , 60 and more, was also in the church and held a torch. William Prustes , 60 and more, began his pilgrimage to the holy land on the day that Elizabeth was born. Thomas Corbyn , 50 and more, says that Richard his son was born the day after the birth of Elizabeth. Nicholas Hayteley , 54 and more, says that Nicholas his son professed as a monk in the abbey of... on the day that Elizabeth was born. John Draper , 46 and more, says that Margaret his wife was Elizabeth’s nurse immediately after her birth and... for over a year afterwards. Thomas Bromwych , 60 and more, espoused Beatrice now his wife on the Sunday following the birth of Elizabeth. John Erbury , 47 and more, took seisin to him and his heirs of a messuage of Richard Twye , ?chaplain, in Handsworth on the day that Elizabeth was born. John Neweman , 50 and more, says that Alice his wife died after a long illness. John Wyot , 48 and more, was in service to Baldwin father of Elizabeth, in the office of butler, and... to the godfather and godmothers of Elizabeth in the church after her baptism.
