The annual value of the >castle is nothing,
but the true annual value of the manor is £10.

He died on 19 January 1411. John Veel , his son and next heir, is aged 22 and more.

Edward, late duke of York , was granted custody of all lands and tenements in the king’s hands that were of Thomas le Despencer during Richard’s minority, as shown by letters patent [CPR 1401–1405, p. 235]. He took the issues of the castle and manors after the death of John Veel. Richard died a minor in the wardship of Henry V. Elizabeth [recte Isabel] his sister and heir was then of age and wife of Richard de Bergevenny, earl of Worcester . They sued the king for the lands and tenements that were of Thomas and in the hands of ‪ Henry V owing to the minority of Richard, and took the issues of the castle and manors in her right for the life of Richard, earl of Worcester . After his death, Elizabeth [recte Isabel] married Richard, earl of Warwick , still living, and they took and still take the issues in her right.
