He held no lands or tenements in demesne or service of the king in chief or any other. He demised the following to Laurence Donne alias Laurence Jamys for 22 years from 26 August 1429, by indenture shown to the jurors.
John afterwards released all right and claim to these two parts to Laurence and to his heirs and assigns in perpetuity by a charter dated 21 March 1431. Laurence was thus seised in demesne as of fee. The release was made without royal licence and the king pardoned Laurence by letters patent dated Westminster 22 June 1431 [CPR 1429–1436, p. 121].
