Thomas, late earl of Arundel , was seised in his demesne as of fee tail, namely to himself and the male heirs of his body, of the castle and lordship of Dawley with its members of Tibberton and Stirchley. He was seised by the grant of John de Alresford and John Sprot, chaplain , to Richard, late earl of Arundel , father of Richard his father, and his male heirs by Eleanor daughter of Henry of Lancaster, senior, late earl of Lancaster , by a fine levied in the court of King Edward, ancestor of Henry VI, referring to these and other lands and tenements [oct. Trin. 1347, CP 25/1/287/43 no.1]. He demised and granted them to Margaret for life, reversion to himself and his male heirs in fee tail as above.She died on 7 May last. The same John son of John Arundell, chevalier , is the kinsman and next male heir of the late earl, aged 16 years and more.

Long before he married Beatrice, now countess of Arundel , Thomas demised by his charter the manors to Margaret for life, reversion to himself and his male heirs in fee tail. She was seised as of free tenement and continued in possession until her death. The reversion pertains to John – son and male heir of John Arundell, late Lord Arundel and Mautravers, chevalier – as kinsman and male heir of Thomas, late earl of Arundel , being the son of John son of John son of John brother of Richard son of Richard, late earl of Arundel , and a minor in the king’s wardship. The manors are held of the king in chief by knight service.
She died on 30 April last. John son of John Arundell is the next male heir of John of Arundel, chevalier, Lord Mautravers , aged 15 years and more.
