Middlesex. Proof of age. Stanwell. 18 July. [Charyngworth].
Stephen Wygot , 50, says that Richard was born at Stanwell, was baptized in the church there and was aged 23 years on 30 April last. He knows because he married his wife Agnes on the day of Richard's baptism. The other jurors say the same. They know for the following reasons. John Govayr , ..., says that there was a dispute between him and Richard de Thorp, rector of Stanwell , over the tithes of land called `Leylond'. William Flemyng , 53, encountered robbers on Hounslow Heath who robbed him of 33s. William Troteman , 48, had his tenement in `Stanwelmore' in Middlesex burnt. John Halyng , 49, had his son John knocked down and nearly killed by the multitude of people gathered for the baptism. John Wiccher , 50, had a daughter Christine born and baptized on the same day. John Yong , 54, says that thieves broke into his house on the morning of John's baptism, dragged him from his bed and stole the bedclothes and other goods and chattels. Robert Whiteman , 52, went to the church with his master Thomas Peyll, knight , to the obsequies of Richard's father Brian . Richard Germayn , 52, took possession of a tenement which he bought from Simon Germayn . Thomas [?Cotelar], 49, had a son John born and baptized on the same day. William Snape , 52, was sent to Richard Brems to ask him to be Richard's godfather. John Dacworth , 49, broke his right shin.
