She was seised in her demesne as of fee of the king in chief by knight service of the manor of Kingsteignton, 2/3 hundred of Teignbridge and a fishery in the river Teign called `Hakyng' by grant of William Baker, clerk , and Thomas Kyrkeby to Henry Thorp , formerly her husband, Cecily and the heirs of their bodies, remainder to the right heirs of Cecily as appears by a fine levied with the king's licence [cf. 39] between William and Thomas, quer., and Henry and Cecily, def. There are in the manor a capital messuage, a ruinous dovecot, annual value nil, a water-mill, annual value 6s. 8d., 2 a. garden ground, annual value 2s., 100 a. demesne arable, annual value 40s., 3 a. meadow, annual value 6s., 14 a. wood, the pasture of which is worth 2s. yearly, 16 messuages, 7 cottages and 20 1/2 ferlings, which remain in the hands of various tenants at will who render £9 yearly at Easter, the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, Michaelmas and Christmas in equal portions, and 40s. assize rents at the same terms. Annual value of the 2/3 hundred with perquisites of courts of the manor and hundred, 20s., of the fishery, 18d.

She died on 20 March last. Ralph son of Henry and Cecily is her next heir, aged 20 years and more.

Holdings

She held no lands or tenements of the king in chief or another in demesne or by service. Long before she died she was seised in demesne as of fee of the manor of Oldbury on the Hill and enfeoffed Henry Chauzy and John Benger junior on condition that after her death they should pay her debts, those of her husband Henry, whose executrix she was, and afterwards enfeoff her son Ralph. They remain seised.

Date of death as in 927. Ralph Thorp was 20 years old on 11 Nov. last.

Holdings

She held for life a yearly rent of 10 marks from the manor of Burden's Ball, which came into the king's hand on the death of Thomas Thorp by reason of the minority of his brother Ralph as appears by an inquisition returned to Chancery. Over and above the 10 marks the manor extends at 100s., of which the king was satisfied by the escheator from the time of Thomas's death. Long before she died she was seised in demesne as of fee of the manors of Yatesbury and Poulshot and enfeoffed the same feoffees on the same conditions as in 928, except that after the payment of her and Henry's debts, they were to enfeoff John son of William Ernesle in fee simple.
