No lands or tenements came into the hand of Henry IV by the death of John Carmynowe, esquire , deceased, father of John named in the writ, or because of the younger John's minority. William Carmynowe , father of John Carmynowe, esquire, was formerly seised in his demesne as of fee of the manors of Polrode and North Tamerton, and granted the manor of Polrode and 2/3 manor of North Tamerton to Alice, widow of Ralph Carmynowe, knight , deceased, for life. Alice survives. After William's death the reversion of the manors of Polrode and 2/3 manor of North Tamerton with the remaining 1/3 descended to John Carmynowe, esquire , as his son and heir. So seised, John assigned the 1/3 in dower to Margaret widow of William Carmynowe . John Carmynowe, esquire , died seised in demesne as of fee of the reversion of the manor of Polrode, 2/3 manor of North Tamerton and the reversion of the 1/3, and of 2/3 of 1/3 of the same manor. After his death the reversion of the manor of Polrode, and after Alice's death the reversion of 2/3 manor of North Tamerton, the reversion of 1/3 of 1/3 of the same manor after Margaret's death and the 2/3 of that 1/3 descended to John Carmynowe the son named in the writ as son and heir of John Carmynowe, esquire . By the death of John Carmynowe, esquire , and the minority of his son John named in the writ those reversions came into the hand of the present king, formerly prince of Wales and duke of Cornwall, of whom the manors are held by knight service of his castle of Launceston. Margaret died on 16 Oct. last, when the 1/3 of 1/3 descended to John Carmynowe named in the writ as son and heir of John Carmynowe, esquire . John the son died on 6 May last, after whose death the reversion and right of reversion of the manor of Polrode and 2/3 manor of North Tamerton after the death of Alice, who survives, and 1/3 manor of North Tamerton came into the king's hand. Annual values: the reversions, nil before they occur; the 1/3 manor of North Tamerton, 54s.
Thomas Carmynowe , aged 25 years and more, is the uncle and next heir of John the son, i.e. brother of John's father John, esquire .
