Ralph Cheyne , William Pekwell, parson of Trent, John Cokk, parson of Bridport , and Henry, parson of Povington , granted to Edmund Cheyne, knight , deceased, and his wife Katharine, who survives, his manors of Rawridge, Upottery, and Fair Oak and the advowson of the chapel of Rawridge and all his lands and tenements at Birch and other manors, lands and tenements in other counties, to hold to them and the legitimate heirs of Edmund's body, remainder to Ralph Cheyne, knight , and his heirs. Edmund died without legitimate issue. Ralph Cheyne, knight, died and the manors etc. remained to William Cheyne named in the writ, as son of Ralph Cheyne, knight.

He was seised in demesne as of fee of: the manor of Brook with 1/2 profits, perquisities, view of frankpledge, hundreds, markets and portmotes of Westbury, a feeding place or pasture for pigs in the wood of Westbury called `le Holte' with a piggery there and £6 rent at the four principal terms from the manor of Westbury and the hamlets of Headinghill, Stoke, Melbourne and Leigh, and the reversion of 2 marks of yearly rent in Charlton, which John Auncell holds for life by gift of Ralph Cheyny, knight , and his wife Joan, William's father and mother. By a charter dated at Brook the last day of [?June] 1400 and shown to the jurors he granted to William Exetre, rector of Trowbridge , William Newe, vicar of Westbury , and John Mareys, chaplain , the manor of Brook with 1/2 etc. as above. By a charter dated at Brook 11 July 1400 William Exetre regranted the manor of Brook to William Cheyne, knight , and his wife Cecily, who survives, to hold to them and the heirs of William;

He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the manor of Norton Hawkfield and the advowson of the free chapel pertaining to it. By a charter dated at Norton Hawkfield 29 Oct. 1400 and shown to the jurors by the name of William Cheyny, knight , son and heir of Ralph Cheyny, knight , he granted to Richard Manyngford , perpetual vicar of Seaton , and Nicholas Trenewith the manor of Norton Hawkfield and the advowson of the chapel in the manor house. Richard and Nicholas were seised until 22 Nov. 1400, when, by their charter dated at Litton Cheney, they regranted the manor and advowson to William Cheyny, knight , son and heir of Ralph Cheyny, knight , and his wife Cecily, who survives.

He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the manor of Tothill and its appurtenances in Tothill, North Reston or South Reston, Gayton le Marsh and Castle Carleton and a croft of pasture in Castle Carleton containing 40 a. pasture, and the advowson of the church of Tothill. He was also seised of the manor of Croft `per nomen manerii sui de Totill' with appurtenances in the townships named above, and the advowson of the church of Tothill. By a charter dated at Tothill 21 May 1411 and shown to the jurors he granted the manor and advowson to John Westbury junior , Ralph Walsch and John Kighley , who were seised until the Saturday following when by their charter dated at Tothill 23 May 1411 and shown to the jurors they regranted the manor of Croft, the advowson of Croft, the appurtenances in the townships named above, and the advowson of Tothill to William and Cecily, who survives, to hold to them and the heirs of William of the chief lord of the fee. The lands are held of the earl of Chester of the honor of Chester, annual value £30, service unknown.

Ralph Cheyne , William Pekwell, parson of Trent , John Cok, parson of Bridport , and Henry, parson of Povington , granted to Edmund Cheyne, knight , deceased, and his wife Katharine, who survives, and the heirs of Edmund the manor of Long Stanton, reversion for life to Katharine's daughter Margaret Heton , remainder to Ralph Cheyne, knight . Margaret died and Edmund died without issue. On Ralph's death the manor of Long Stanton remained to William named in the writ as his son and heir.
