ELLEN WIDOW OF EDWARD CERNE

Holdings

John Pavely, knight , held the manor of Avon in his demesne as of fee of the abbot of Malmesbury by suit of the barony court of the abbot every three weeks, annual value 4 marks,
and gave it to Walter Pavely, knight , Ellen his wife and the heirs of their bodies. They held and Walter died without such heirs. Ellen married Edward Cerne and she died on 3 July 1418. It should revert to the abbey because Edward and Ellen died without heirs of their bodies.

William Cheyny, knight , son of Joan, one daughter and heir of John Pavely, aged 30 years and more, John Chidyok , son of Ela, daughter and heir of Agnes, the other daughter of John Pavely, aged 20 years and more, and Alice daughter of Richard de Sancto Mauro , son of Elizabeth, the other daughter of Agnes, aged 12 years and more, are the heirs of John Pavely.
