154 Writ to assign dower. ‡ 18 July 1418. [Wymbyssh]. Teste John, duke of Bedford.

The escheator of Yorkshire ordered to take her oath not to marry without royal licence and then to assign dower from the lands taken into the king’s hand owing to the death of her husband John [see 119] and the minority of his heir. Assignment to be in the presence of the next friends of the heir. [CCR 1413–19, p.468.]
