Addressed to the escheator in Somerset and Dorset.

Dorset. Inquisition. Bere Regis. 16 March 1419 (Thursday after St. Gregory pope, 6 Hen V). [Hedy].

Holdings

John Chydyok, knight , held in his demesne as of fee a carucate and 20 a. wood at `la Bayllye' by Yetminster, and by his deed shown to the jurors granted them to John Stretche of Milborne and his wife Joan for the term of their lives, and by another deed also shown released all his rights to them and the heirs of John. Joan died. John enfeoffed William Bedmond , and John Page , clerks. They held in their demesne as of fee and afterwards enfeoffed Alexander Lynde , Warin Sachevyle , William Lane, clerk , and Robert Cokeman . They now hold and occupy.

Yetminster, a carucate and 20 a. wood at `la Bayllye', held of the bishop of Salisbury of the manor of Sherborne by a rent of 4 lb. wax yearly at Candlemas, annual value 6 marks.

He died on 4 Sept. last. Thomas Stretche is his son and next heir, aged 38 years and more.
