He held 7 a. and 1 a. of alders in his demesne as of fee of the king in chief by knight service in the manor called Ferriers in Bures St. Mary, annual value 2s., and the site of that manor of the heir of the earl of March , under age in the king’s ward, for various unknown services, annual value nil beyond the maintenance.
He also held 100 a. of the heir of the earl of Kent of the manor of Lamarsh , service unknown, annual value 33s.4d.,
and a parcel of the manor of Ferriers of Richard Waldegrave and others, service unknown, annual value £4.

He died on 9 Sept. last. William his son and heir is aged 18 years.

Holdings

Long before his death he held the manor of Eynesbury and on 13 Aug. 1410 granted it by charter with all his lands in St. Neots to Richard Waldegrave and William Berdewell , knights, and others to hold to them and their heirs. The manor is held of William Lord Ferrers of Groby in socage by a rent of 1d., annual value £10.

Holdings

In Hawkedon he held in his demesne as of fee 1 messuage, 200 a. arable, 14 a. meadow, 24 a. pasture, 10 a. wood and 13s. rent of the earl of March by the service of half a fee. The messuage comprises various buildings, annual value nil, and a dovecot 5s.; the arable is worth 4d. the a., the meadow 18d. the a. and no more because liable to flood, the pasture 6d. the a., and the wood 8 1/2d. and one seventh of a 1/2d. because in the seventh year it can be cut and is then worth 5s.

Long before his death he granted by charter to Richard Waldegrave and William Berdewell , knights, Thomas Lopham , Richard Mauncell, clerk , and Robert Cavendysshe the manor of Preston called Mortimers and the manor of Netherhall in Otley, and 88 a. arable, 4 1/2 a. meadow, 16 a. pasture and 4 a. wood in Barham, Claydon, Hinderclay and Thelnetham. All the tenants attorned to them.

Preston, annual value £10,
and Netherhall, annual value £6 13s. 4d.,
are held of the duchy of Lancaster, each by the service of half a knight’s fee;
48 a. arable, 4 1/2 a. meadow, 8 a. pasture and the wood in Thelnetham are held of the abbot of Bury St. Edmunds , service unknown. Of whom 40 a. arable and 8 a. pasture in Barham, Claydon and Hinderclay are held is unknown. The arable is worth annually 4d. the a., the meadow 18d., the pasture 6d. and the wood 8 1/2d. and a seventh part of a 1/2d.

Date of death as above. William his son and heir will be 18 years of age on 25 Nov. next.
