Holdings

By the grant of Thomas de Moubray, Earl Marshal , he held the manor of Wroot for life of the abbey of St. Mary, York, by a rent of 14s., annual value 66s.8d.

He died on 2 July 1409, heir unknown.

Queen Joan has held since his death by letters patent of 2 parts of the manor of Epworth of which Wroot has been parcel from time immemorial.

The duke of Norfolk died on 22 Sept. 1399 ; from him the right to the reversion descended to Thomas Moubray and so to John who was aged 21 on 10 Aug. last.

Holdings

By a fine of 1387 [CP 25(1)/289/55, no.160] Richard Nasshe and Hugh Haresfeld granted to John Bremwich, knight , and Katherine his wife the manors of Credenhill and Eaton Tregose with the advowson of the chapel of Eaton Tregose in Herefordshire and the manor and advowson of Broomsberrow in Gloucestershire to hold to them and the heirs of their bodies. John Bremwich died and Katherine survived him holding the manors. She then married Hugh de Waterton and still holds.

The present king granted to Hugh Waterton, chivaler, deceased, and Katherine his wife, who survives, the keeping of the manor of Minchinhampton, with the possessions, lands, tenements, and rents [of the alien abbess of Caen] in the same county, from 29 Sept. 1400 [for the duration of the war with France] rendering £80 at Easter and Michaelmas equally, as in the king’s letters patent [CFR 1399-1405, 14].
The said king, lately duke, late earl of Derby, Hereford, and .... granted to Hugh Waterton the manor of Tibberton, for his good service, rendering a leaf of ‘maple’ at Midsummer, ... the king .. . wards, marriages, fees, and advowsons ... by his letters patent ... Afterwards Hugh surrendered the latters patent in the chancery of the king, then earl of Derby, to be cancelled, and the king, ... earl of Derby of his special grace granted for his good service ... the manor of Tibberton .... to Hugh, deceased, and Katherine his wife, who survives, for the term of their lives, rendering a leaf of ‘maple’ at Midsummer, ... the king, then earl of Derby and his heirs ... wards, marriages, fees and advowsons pertaining to the manor, as in the letters patent. Katherine survives. The manor is worth £20 yearly.

He died on 25 June 1409 ['Tuesday after Midsummer last'. Tuesday 25 June was the day immediately after Midsummer Day; 2 July, the death date given in 817 and 818, was the following Tuesday - perhaps it was this that was meant].
