Long before his death he feoffed John Lysle, knight , William Brocas , and others, and their heirs and assigns, among other things of the manors of Fisherton Anger, Steeple Langford, and Grimstead, with the advowsons of the churches pertaining to those manors. They were seised in demesne as of fee and continued their estate for the whole of Stephen’s life. The charter was shown to the jurors.
He died on 12 November 1444. His daughters and next heirs are Elizabeth, the wife of John Wadham , aged 18 and more; Margery, aged 10 and more; Elizabeth, junior , aged 6 and more; and Alice, aged 1½ and more.
