AGNES, WHO WAS THE WIFE OF JOHN DYKMAN SENIOR

She was seised of the following in demesne as of fee.
Great or Little Wishford, a messuage, worth 5s. yearly; 6 cottages, each worth 12d. yearly; 147 a. arable, each acre worth 1d. yearly; 7½ a. meadow, each acre worth 10d. yearly; and 10s. rent, held of the king in chief by 2s. payable at the castle of ‘Old’ Salisbury at Michaelmas.
Stoford, a messuage, worth 6s. 8d. yearly; 40 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly; a ‘hamme’ called ‘Brodehamme’ containing 3 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; and a rood of meadow, worth 3d. yearly; and
South Newton (Neuton), a messuage, worth 20d. yearly; and 11½ a. arable, each acre worth 1½d. yearly, and the ½ a. worth ½d. yearly,
held of the abbess of Wilton , service unknown. She was seised of
the office or bailiwick of keeping the wood called the king’s forest of Grovely herself or by sufficient deputy, of no annual value beyond its costs
. She and all her ancestors from time without mind were seised of the office and occupied it, receiving the customary wages.

She died on 2 February 1433. Maud, wife of John Coupere , is her kin and next heir, as the daughter of Thomas, the son of Agnes, and is aged 19 and more.

John Dykman, junior , received the issues of the messuage, etc., in Wishford, from her death until the taking of this inquisition. John Mayn received the issues of the messuage, etc., in Stoford and South Newton for the same period, how and by what title the jurors do not know.
