He held the following jointly with Margaret, late his wife, by grant of Thomas Braunspath, clerk , Robert Thornton, esquire , and John Craven of Oswaldkirk to Richard, Margaret, and the heirs of Richard. Margaret survives.
Lockton, the manor, annual value 100s., held of the king of the honour of the castle of Pickering, as in right of the duchy of Lancaster, by socage viz. by rent of 9s.
Beadlam, the manor, annual value 5 marks, held of the lord Roos, of his castle of Helmsley, by socage, viz. by service of a pair of spurs or 6d. yearly.
Pickering,
a messuage and a dovecot, in which Nicholas Cuke dwells, annual value 4s., held of the king , of the duchy of Lancaster, in burgage; and
2 messuages, 3 bovates and 5 selions of land, 4 cottages, 2 gardens, 2 closes – one called ‘Spysergarth’, the other called ‘Wollergateclosse’ – a shop, a ‘smethyhouse’, an outlet (exitum) which William Breuys holds freely, and a garden which John Chester holds freely, annual value £4 17s. 4½d., held of the king , of the honour of the castle of Pickering, in right of the duchy of Lancaster, in socage viz. by rent of 19s.
He held the following jointly with Margaret, by grant of the same Thomas, Robert, and John to them and the heirs of their bodies.
South Holme, 5 tenements and 6 bovates of land, annual value £4, held of the heir of William de Barton, knight , by socage viz. by rent of a pair of gloves or 1d. payable at Christmas.
Great Barugh, a messuage and a carucate of land, annual value at farm 64s. 8d., held of the heirs of Adam de Everyngham, lord of Laxton , in socage viz. by rent of a rose in the season of roses if asked.
Norton-on-Derwent, n034 a tenement, 2 bovates of land, 3 a. ‘forland’, and a croft in the vill and territory, annual value 33s. 4d.

These lands, tenements, rents, and services, are held of the lord Mowbray, of his manor of Thirsk, service unknown. The said Roger [sic] quitclaimed his right in these lands, services, suits of court, and escheats to master William... Bruys of Pickering. Richard had this William’s estate in the above... services, homages, and fealties jointly with Margaret, as above, and they are not obliged to do any service for them.
Ampleforth, a tenement and 2 bovates of land... which John Fox holds at farm for 21s.; a tenement and [?½ bovate] of land which Nicholas Gren holds at farm for 20s. ; a tenement and 4 bovates of land which Robert Banke holds at farm for 29s. ; a tenement, a garden, and 2 bovates of land which Walter Ruke holds at farm for 10s. ; a tenement, a garden, and 3 roods of land which John Wyvell holds at farm for 6s. ; a tenement and a garden which Thomas Watson holds in farm for 4s. ; a parcel of meadow containing 3 roods which Richard Watson holds at farm for 18d. ; rent of 8 cocks and 8 hens issuing from the above 8 tenements, payable at Christmas, worth 2s. yearly; rent of 160 eggs, viz. 20 from each tenement, payable at Easter, worth 8d. yearly; and 3 waste gardens, late in the tenure of John Cutberd , which used to be worth 5s. , all held of the lord Roos, of his castle of Helmsley in socage, by rent of a rose in the season of roses if asked.

He died on 11 September 1441. John Pykeryng is his first-born son and next heir, aged 9 and more.
