n334^: This messuage is variously recorded as being in Litilkorby or Corkby. Corkby is usually translated as Great Corkby. There is no information given regarding of whom it was held.
n335^: The dorse of the writ makes it clear that only one inquisition was returned.
n336^: C 139: ‘son of Thomas’ is inserted, to make ‘son of Thomas son of Thomas son of Richard’. E 149 records only ‘son of Thomas son of Richard’.
n337^: See also CPR 1388–92, pp. 37, 124.
n338^: It is not entirely clear from either C 139 or E 149 whether the fulling-mills are collectively worth 6s. 8d. yearly, or each worth 6s. 8d. yearly. C 139 omits ‘each’ which is commonly used in such phrases, although the verb is in the singular: que valet per annum vjs. viijd. E 149 is open to wider interpretation: que val’ per annum.
