The jurors say that he was aged 21 years and more on Michaelmas last and was born at Driby and baptised in the church there on 15 July AD 1414. On 16 July last 22 years had passed since then. John Hakthorn of Walmsgate, 50 and more, says that on that day he saw Thomas Hauley, knight , raise Robert from the font in Driby church. Richard Northorp of Sausthorpe, 46 and more, says that on that day he was retained in the service of William Cromwell, knight , father of Robert. Edmund Thoresthorp of Thoresthorpe, 60 and more, says that on that day John Scales, chaplain of Driby chantry , died. Walter Waldyng of Hagnaby, 48 and more, says that on that day John Winthorp, abbot of Hagnaby , was elected abbot of that abbey. John Cobbyng of Driby, 46 and more, says that on that day Joan his wife gave birth to a daughter named Alice who died immediately after birth. Thomas del Hauen of Partney, 50 and more, says that on that day he bought a messuage in Ashby by Partney. Stephen Hume of Partney, 46 and more, says that on that day William Multon of Driby espoused Agnes, daughter of William Carter . John Dandy of Partney, 46 and more, says that on that day he married Alice, daughter of Thomas Webster of Alford. Thomas Dalby of Dalby, 50 and more, says that on that day a ship from foreign parts was wrecked in a great storm and broke into pieces on the sea coast at Huttoft and part of it was taken possession of by the king’s ministers of his duchy of Lancaster. John Champneys of Markby, 50 and more, says that on that day John Leek was elected as prior of Markby priory . John Wright of Bilsby, 46 and more, says that on that day there was a great flood in the district which inundated all the meadow in the same vill, destroying all the hay that year. William Lemson of Huttoft, 48 and more, says that on that day there was such a great storm in the sea that sea water flooded over the banks of the same vill, almost inundating all the land there.
