The jurors say that William, son of William, was born at South Acre and baptised in the church of that vill, and was aged 21 years on 23 April last. They know because of the following recollections of the day of his birth. Thomas Person , aged 43 years and more, says that John Dye, chaplain , celebrated his first mass. Thomas Canon , 50 years and more, says there was such a strong wind that many men of the vill feared the destruction of the buildings. Henry Cok , 46 years and more, says John Cok his father was buried in the churchyard. William Newegate , 62 years and more, says John Southgate carried a basin with ewer to South Acre church and presented water to the godfathers and godmother. John Boyoo , 54 years and more, says Henry Crosse , neif of William, son of William, was born and baptised. Thomas Fermour , 47 years and more, was sent to Raynham to get Thomas Kyng, chaplain , to baptise William, son of William. Thomas Symond , 64 years and more, says John Symond, chaplain , his brother, held the bible at the church door at the time of the baptism. William Wotton , 56 years and more, says Thomas Wotton his son was born. Robert Thede , 49 years and more, carried a burning torch to the church before William, son of William. Thomas Danne , 67 years and more, says Katherine his daughter married William Stephyn her husband. John atte Hyrne (Attehyrne), 58 years and more, says Joan his wife was midwife for William, son of William, and carried him to the church for baptism.
