John Percy , aged 48 years and more, sworn and diligently examined on the age of Ralph, swears that Ralph was born at Settrington, baptised in the church of All Saints there, and was 21 years of age and more on 7 July last. He knows because he married Margaret, still living, on the day that Ralph was born. Thomas Gray , 43 and more, knows because Guy his son died after a long illness. Walter Gower , 42 and more, knows because Joan his wife gave birth to a son named Nicholas. William Bulmer , 44 and more, knows because such a wind blew up that many of the buildings in Settrington collapsed. John Shyrburn , 46 and more, knows because William his son carried a torch in front of Ralph when he was borne to the church for baptism. Thomas Paulyn , 48 and more, was thrown so violently by his horse that he broke his left shin. John Tropp, senior , 45 and more, carried the basin and ewer in front of Ralph when he was borne to the church for baptism. William Archer , 47 and more, carried two silver pots to the church, full of red wine for the godfathers, godmothers, and other bystanders when Ralph was baptised. Thomas Henrison , 49 and more, was sent to fetch Elizabeth Joyes to nurse Ralph on the day that he was baptised. William Keld , 43 and more, knows because Isabel his wife gave birth to twins, a son named Christopher, and a daughter named Margery. Robert Malton , 45 and more, knows because John Waltham leased a meadow called ‘West Wraa’ to him for 21 years by indented deed dated 29 June before the birth of Ralph, viz., 1409 and the lease finished on Michaelmas last. John Wharrome , 49 and more, knows because George his son was born 25 July after the birth of Ralph. George is now aged 21 and more.
