Holdings
Ralph Cromwell, chevalier, late lord of Tattershall , was seised of the following in demesne as of fee. He gave it to William his son and to the heirs male of his body, with remainder to the right heirs of Ralph in perpetuity. William died seised of this estate.
Tuxford, a third of 1/3 manor, held of the king in chief by knight service. There are 6 messuages and 6 bovates, each messuage and its adjacent bovate worth 6s. 8d. yearly; a toft, worth 12d. yearly; 100 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 3 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; and a wood called ‘le Westrake’, worth nothing yearly above enclosure because completely felled.

William died on 4 September last. Robert Cromwell , his son and next heir, was then aged 15 and more.

Holdings
He held no lands or tenements of the king in demesne or service. He held the following to him and the heirs male of his body, as enfeoffed by Lady Maud, late wife of Ralph Cromwell , with remainder to Maud’s heirs in perpetuity.
Shalbourne, the manor, held of the heirs of Peter son of Herbert by one rose yearly. There is a grange, worth nothing yearly; an adjacent close, worth 6d. yearly; a carucate containing 100 a. arable lying in common of which a moiety may be sown each year, each sown acre worth 4d. yearly ; 12 a. meadow, each acre worth 18d. yearly; 40 a. several pasture, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 20 a. wood with no underwood, its pasture worth nothing yearly as common all year; a water-mill, worth nothing yearly because ruinous; £8 10s. assize rent from tenants, free and villein, payable at the four terms of the year by equal parts; and 6s. rent called ‘lader silver’, payable at Martinmas.
He died on 1 September 1428. Heir as 191, except that he is aged 16 and more.
