He was seised in demesne as of fee of Long before his death and by charter, shown to the jurors, he granted it to Richard Cralle of Sussex, esquire, Alexander Cheyne of Kent, and Thomas Frankeleyn , and to their heirs in perpetuity, but the following free tenants never attorned to them.He died on 21 May 1422. Elizabeth and Margaret are his daughters and next heirs, and respectively aged 9 and more, and 8 and more.
After John’s death, Richard Walkstede, knight , and Elizabeth his wife took the profits and rents from the tenants who did not attorn to Richard Cralle etc. [as above], as well as issues from the messuages, cottages, and land.
