Regarding lands and tenements held by curtesy after the death of Agnes his wife from the inheritance of William de Legh, knight , her son and heir.

Dufton, 40s. quit-rent from Dufton manor taken at Pentecost and Martinmas by equal parts.
The entire rent was held in common by William de Legh, senior , in right of Agnes, John Midilton, knight , and Joan his wife, one of the sisters of Agnes, still living, in right of Joan, and John Belassys and Alice his wife, the other sister of Agnes, also still living, in right of Alice. The third now pertains to William son and heir of William and Agnes, and to his heirs by right.

He died on 10 April last. William de Legh son and heir of William, senior , and Agnes, is aged 34 and more.

There is a capital messuage with ruinous buildings, worth nothing yearly above maintenance of the same; an adjacent garden, worth 2s. yearly; 2 carucates of demesne arable, each worth 10s. yearly: sum 20s. yearly; 6 a. demesne meadow, each acre worth 8d. yearly: sum 4s. yearly; 8 messuages held by tenants for terms of years, each demised for 12d. yearly: sum 8s. yearly; 2 cottages, each demised for 8d. yearly: sum 16d. yearly; 4 carucates of land held by tenants for terms of years, each demised for 10s. yearly: sum 40s. yearly; 200 a. moor, worth nothing yearly because it is common pasture to all the manor’s tenants; and a court, its perquisites worth nothing yearly above the fee of the seneschal and clerk of the court. Total annual value of Wiggonby manor, 75s. 3d.
Carlisle, one messuage, annual value 6s. 8d, held of the king in free burgage as the entire city is held, by 2d. yearly in house-gavel on the feast of St Peter in Chains.
Stainton in the barony of Greystoke, 10 messuages, each demised for 12d. yearly: sum 10s. yearly; 3 carucates of land held by tenants for terms of years, each demised for 13s. 4d. yearly: sum 40s. yearly; 20 a. meadow held by tenants for terms of years, each acre demised for 12d. yearly: sum 20s. yearly; and 12 a. wood, worth nothing yearly but its herbage is worth 3s. 4d. yearly, held of the king in chief as 1/28 knight’s fee and 3s. 6d. cornage rendered yearly at the exchequer in Carlisle.
Stainton, common pasture for his animals and 1/3 common pasture for animals of the men of Stainton in the said tenements, annual value of all pasture, 6s. 8d.
Total value of the messuage in Carlisle and the messuages, land, meadow, wood, and common in Stainton £4 6s. 8d. They are held in common in the same manner and by the same people as the rent in 40. The third now pertains to William son and heir of William and Agnes, and to his heirs by right.
