He held no lands or tenements of the king in chief in demesne, reversion or in service. He died seised of the following in his demesne as of fee.

Potterne, a manor in the vill, held of the bishop of Salisbury by knight service. In the manor there are assize rents, worth 100s. yearly; the site with adjacent... [ms torn and stained] and gardens, worth 10s. yearly; and parcels of land belonging to the manor – 250 a. arable, worth 60s. yearly, 23 a. meadow, worth 40s. yearly, and 300 a. pasture, worth 20s. yearly.
Etchilhampton, the manor, held of Lord de Beaumonde by service of a pepper-corn at Michaelmas. In the manor there are assize rents, worth 6 marks yearly; the site, worth nothing yearly; parcels of land belonging to the manor – 200 a. arable, worth 40s. yearly, and 10 a. meadow, worth 20s. yearly; a pasture for 300 sheep and 12 draught animals, worth 20s. yearly; and a dovecot worth 40d. yearly.
Etchilhampton, 4 virgates of land containing 60 a., worth 10s. yearly, held of Alice Malweyn by service of 30s. 7d. and 1/2lb. pepper at Michaelmas; and 2 virgates of land containing 30 a., held of John Boysshell by service of a pepper-corn at Michaelmas, annual value 5s.

He died on 20 May 1425.n583_002 Robert his son is his next heir, aged 26 years and more.

n583_001^: The writ is dated 3 ‪Henry VI and the IPM 4 ‪Henry VI. If these dates are correct then a period of 14 months elapsed between the issue of the writ and the holding of the inquisition, which is unlikely. Further, if the regnal year of the IPM is correct then the escheator William Fauconer held it after William Fyndern had replaced him as escheator on 24 January 1426. Amending the regnal year of the IPM to 3 ‪Henry VI gives a more plausible IPM date of 1 May 1425 and the date of death as 4 June 1424.
