Holdings

He held no lands or tenements in demesne or by service of ‪ Henry IV in chief, but held in his demesne as of fee in Glamorgan and Morgannwg in the march of Wales adjoining Gloucestershire the castle of Dinas Powis, annual value nil, 1/2 manor of Dinas Powis and Llanedeyrn, annual value 100s., and a mediety of the church of the manor, annual value nil, for 1/2 knight's fee of Richard, Lord Despenser , son and heir of Thomas, Lord Despenser , a minor in the wardship of ‪ Henry IV. Sanchia, widow of Walter Blount, knight , occupied the premises and took the profits by virtue of a grant by letters patent of ‪ Henry IV [23 Nov. 1406: CPR 1405-8, p. 273] from the death of John until her death on 15 Nov. 1414. Her executors John Baysham and Thomas Blount took the profits from her death until 20 Jan. 1419, and from that date until the taking of this inquisition John Sutton, knight , and Nicholas Russell took the profits by virtue of a grant from Baysham and Blount.

He died on 3 Sept. 1406 [CIPM XIX, nos 208-9]. John de Sutton, knight , is his son and next heir, aged 21 years on 6 Jan. last.
